Connect the Entrance to the Branded Interior

A well-planned entrance should make it easy for people to recognize your organization, understand where they are, and feel confident about the space they are entering. Storefront graphics can establish that first layer of identity through window graphics, entry lettering, privacy treatments, and other visual elements that belong at the threshold. The goal is not to crowd every message onto the glass or doorway. It is to create a clear, purposeful arrival that prepares people for the branded workplace or commercial interior beyond it.

Heritage Signs & Displays develops storefront graphics as part of a coordinated interior branding project. Entrance glass may need identification, privacy, visual awareness, or a combination of those functions. Inside the space, a lobby sign, dimensional feature, wall graphic, or display can continue the identity and give the organization more room to communicate. Storefront graphics remain the focus of this page, but their strongest role is often to introduce an experience that continues naturally after someone walks through the door.

Our process begins with what the client wants people to recognize, understand, or feel when they arrive. Heritage works with client stakeholders to translate those goals into an environmental graphic design plan that fits the architecture and the way the workplace functions. One dedicated Project Manager stays with the client as the work moves through discovery, design, production, fabrication, and professional installation. This gives the client one accountable Heritage relationship, reduces unnecessary handoffs, and helps protect the approved design intent throughout the project. That continuity matters when several branded elements must work together.

Heritage began in 1977 as a commercial printing company. Custom signs, interior graphics, workplace branding, and event environment solutions became a defining company focus beginning in 2009. Today, Heritage is an award-winning, veteran-owned, family-led company approaching its 50th anniversary. Our teams understand that a polished result depends on more than attractive artwork. The design has to fit the space, the material has to fit the application, and the installation plan has to fit the actual conditions of the site.

Heritage focuses on branding workplace and commercial interiors. Storefront Graphics is the primary gateway where that interior work can extend to the exterior face of a property. When Heritage is producing and installing interior signs and graphics for a storefront or workplace, the same project can also include specific non-illuminated exterior signs and graphics that strengthen identification and the arrival experience. Those exterior elements can introduce the organization before people enter, then connect with entrance glass, lobby signs, wall graphics, displays, and other interior branding so the exterior approach and workplace interior feel intentionally connected rather than like separate sign projects.

Heritage supports organizations throughout Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Durham, Research Triangle Park, and nearby Central North Carolina communities. We listen carefully, recommend responsibly, and manage the details needed to move each accepted project forward. Our purpose is to honor God by serving clients and communities with excellence, and we seek to reflect that purpose through clear communication, thoughtful stewardship, and dependable follow-through.

Let the Entrance Introduce What Comes Next

The entrance should establish identity and help people enter with confidence, but it should not be expected to communicate the entire brand story. The interior provides more room to express culture, purpose, history, recognition, and the experience the organization wants employees and visitors to have.

Heritage plans storefront graphics around that progression. Window graphics or entry lettering can provide recognition while preserving useful views through the glass. Privacy treatments can create separation where it is needed without making the workplace feel closed. Once inside, a lobby sign may become the primary visual destination while wall graphics, dimensional elements, or displays develop the message more fully.

Planning the entrance and interior together also helps prevent visual disconnect. Rather than planning the door, windows, lobby, and interior walls independently, Heritage helps determine what belongs at the threshold and what deserves a stronger presentation inside. The result is a more intentional arrival and a branded interior that feels connected from the first point of contact without feeling overdesigned.

Storefront and Commercial Interior Branding Applications

Window and Glass Graphics

Window graphics help identify an organization while making better use of entrance and interior glass. Heritage adjusts coverage, visibility, and privacy to the needs of the space so the graphics support the entrance without unnecessarily closing off views or natural light.

Wall Wraps

Wall wraps give larger interior surfaces a stronger role in the brand experience. Imagery, color, or messaging can extend the identity established at the entrance into reception areas, corridors, meeting rooms, and other places where employees and visitors spend more time.

Lobby Signs

A lobby sign can become the visual destination after the entrance introduces the brand. Heritage coordinates its scale, materials, and placement with the surrounding interior so the reception area feels like a natural continuation of the experience that began at the doorway.

Wall Displays

Wall displays give organizations a structured way to communicate culture, history, recognition, or other important stories. Graphics can work with dimensional and mounted elements to create a presentation with greater depth and meaning than a single printed surface.

Dimensional Letters

Dimensional letters and logos add depth and architectural presence to reception areas, corridors, and branded displays. Heritage coordinates the feature with nearby graphics, finishes, and lighting so it supports the space and gives the identity appropriate emphasis without competing with the interior.

Frosted Vinyl for Glass

Frosted vinyl and etched-look privacy film can give offices, conference rooms, and glass partitions greater privacy without eliminating natural light. Custom patterns or branding can make the treatment feel intentional and connected to the surrounding interior rather than added only for screening.

SEG Fabric Graphics

SEG fabric graphics use tensioned fabric within a slim frame to create a clean, contemporary presentation. They are especially useful when a prominent interior visual may need to change over time without rebuilding the entire display or surrounding branded environment.

Backlit Signs

Backlit signs can give a logo or important message greater presence inside a lobby or customer-facing interior. Heritage plans the sign in relation to the room, nearby graphics, and existing lighting so the illumination strengthens the presentation rather than overpowering it.

Connect Your Raleigh Entrance to the Interior

If your Raleigh or Research Triangle organization is planning storefront graphics as part of a broader workplace or commercial interior branding project, Heritage Signs & Displays is ready to learn what you want the entrance and interior to accomplish. Use the Get Started Now form to share the location, desired completion date, anticipated investment, photographs, available measurements, brand standards, and other project information you already have. One dedicated Project Manager will review the details, identify the next planning decisions, and coordinate the Heritage resources needed to move the approved direction through production, fabrication, and professional installation.

Local Storefront Branding for Raleigh and the Research Triangle

Raleigh and the Research Triangle include workplaces with very different audiences, properties, and operating needs. An entrance may face a sidewalk, parking area, shared lobby, vestibule, or interior corridor, and those conditions influence how much identification is needed, where privacy belongs, and how storefront graphics should lead people into the space.

Heritage's Raleigh office supports organizations throughout Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Durham, Research Triangle Park, and nearby Central North Carolina communities. Local Heritage team members support client discovery, site surveys, field verification, installation planning, and professional installation. Their observations remain connected to the dedicated Project Manager and the Heritage teams responsible for environmental graphic design, production, and fabrication.

Heritage supports organizations with more than one location. A Raleigh-area client with offices in the Carolinas can keep one dedicated Project Manager while Heritage coordinates broader Carolinas support. When needs extend across the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic, Heritage can support client locations through local offices and teammates coordinated by that Project Manager. The full Heritage Network adds scale and continuity while brand standards and client knowledge stay connected and each property adapts to its architecture, access, and operating needs.

Environmental Graphic Design for Storefronts and Commercial Interiors

Environmental graphic design helps determine what the entrance should communicate and how that message should continue inside the space. For storefront graphics, Heritage considers what people need to notice first, which views through the glass should remain open, where privacy is important, and how the entrance relates to interior focal points.

Some clients begin with established brand standards and finished artwork. Others have an objective, photographs, or an early idea that still needs development. Heritage works with the client and, when applicable, with architects, interior designers, branding agencies, or property teams to translate the approved direction into graphics that fit the actual site. Scale, visibility, privacy, lighting, and the relationship between the entrance and interior influence the design and material decisions.

The goal is not an abstract concept separated from execution in practice. Heritage develops environmental graphics that can move successfully into production, fabrication, and professional installation. The result may include a stronger arrival, branded lobby, privacy graphics that preserve light, a timeline or history wall, core values or mission statement features, recognition, direction, or other elements that create a cohesive workplace experience.

Exterior Signs & Graphics

Heritage produces and installs specific types of non-illuminated exterior signs and graphics as part of coordinated Storefront and workplace branding projects that also include interior work. These exterior elements can include window graphics, exterior wall graphics or wraps, dimensional signs and lettering, custom sign panels, and related non-illuminated features. They can identify the organization before people enter and connect naturally with entrance glass, privacy graphics, lobby signs, wall graphics, displays, and other interior branding so the exterior arrival and interior experience work together.

Printed exterior wall graphics receive protective film laminate as standard practice for added UV and weather protection. Heritage also evaluates the surface, exposure, attachment, and site conditions for the exterior components it accepts.

Heritage does not produce or install channel letters, monument signs, pylon signs, or illuminated exterior signs. Heritage does not determine sign permit requirements or manage or facilitate the sign permitting process. The client, property owner or property manager, or general contractor is responsible for confirming and securing required sign permits and property approvals.

Professional Installation of Storefront Graphics

Every Heritage Storefront Graphics project includes a site survey that connects the client's objectives to measurements, surfaces, access, and installation conditions. From there, the dedicated Project Manager keeps Heritage's environmental graphic designers, production and fabrication team, and full-time professional installers connected as the work moves from planning through installation.

That collaboration is an important Heritage advantage. Site information, approved design intent, material decisions, production requirements, access planning, scheduling, and installation details remain part of one shared project history. Each Heritage team can prepare with the benefit of what the others already know, reducing unnecessary handoffs, miscommunication, and last-minute surprises while helping questions get resolved before they become field problems.

This differs from project-management-only approaches that divide site surveys, design, production, and installation among separate vendors. Heritage keeps the people responsible for the finished result working from the same information and toward the same client objective, helping our installers protect the client's property, work efficiently, minimize disruption, communicate clearly, and deliver the approved signs and graphics as intended.

Wall Surface & Graphic Performance

Wall graphics perform best when the drywall is sound and smooth, the primer and paint have been properly applied, and the finish paint is fully cured. Adhesion testing can show how vinyl performs on the painted surface but cannot confirm how well the paint and primer are bonded to drywall underneath. If paint peels or pulls away during testing or repositioning during installation, Heritage stops rather than making the wall worse. The client or property owner arranges and pays for repair, priming, repainting, and full cure before Heritage returns.

Later removal is separate. Heritage makes every reasonable effort to remove adhesive vinyl slowly and carefully without harming the paint or drywall, but a damage-free result cannot be guaranteed. Paint or primer may pull away with the vinyl, and the drywall facing can be affected. Clients should anticipate repair may be needed and plan time and budget for restoration. The client or property owner arranges and pays for repair, priming, repainting, and cure. Removing existing graphics early helps reveal these needs before replacement graphics are scheduled. Wall graphics remain proven, effective branding solutions when appropriately planned.

Project Planning, Overall Investment, and Service Fit

Successful storefront and interior branding projects begin by agreeing on what the entrance and interior need to accomplish. Heritage works with the client to understand the audience, scope, schedule, site conditions, approval process, and anticipated investment before individual products are finalized. Available photographs, measurements, brand standards, and property requirements help the team identify what is already known and what still needs to be verified.

Heritage is best suited for professionally managed projects that benefit from a connected process of environmental graphic design, production, fabrication, and professional installation. Many Heritage projects involving production and professional installation range from $10,000 to more than $200,000. The appropriate investment depends on the complete scope rather than the price of one individual graphic or sign.

A storefront project may center on one substantial branded entrance or continue into the workplace through selected signs, graphics, and displays. It may also become part of a phased or multi-location program. One dedicated Project Manager keeps responsibilities, approvals, schedule, and next decisions clear while the Heritage team carries the approved scope toward completion.

Storefront Graphics FAQs

Storefront graphics help establish an organization's identity at the entrance and create a natural transition into the interior. They can support recognition, privacy, visual branding, and direction on entrance glass and nearby surfaces. In a Heritage-managed project, they may also connect naturally with lobby signs, wall graphics, dimensional elements, and other interior branding.

No. Storefront graphics are useful anywhere an entrance or customer-facing glass needs to establish identity and connect with the interior. Offices, healthcare practices, educational organizations, nonprofits, showrooms, hospitality businesses, and other organizations can all benefit when the entrance is planned as part of the larger branded space.

The right window graphic depends on what the glass needs to accomplish. Heritage can create printed or cut vinyl graphics, perforated window graphics, frosted treatments, privacy graphics, lettering, logos, or custom patterns when those applications fit the project. Coverage and material are selected around the desired appearance, privacy, visibility, and actual glass conditions.

Distraction markers are decorative or branded vinyl graphics that make clear glass easier to notice. They can be incorporated into the overall glass treatment while also supporting visual branding or privacy. Heritage plans their appearance and placement in relation to the surrounding environment. Applied vinyl does not establish building-code or safety-glazing compliance.

Perforated window graphics use printed perforated vinyl with small openings that retain a measured degree of visibility through the glass. Their appearance changes with lighting on each side of the window, so Heritage evaluates the actual conditions before recommending this application.

Yes. Privacy graphics can reduce direct sightlines without requiring every part of the glass to be covered. Frosted vinyl, etched-look privacy film, branded patterns, or strategically placed graphics can provide useful separation while allowing natural light and selected views to remain part of the workplace.

Yes, when the material, surface, and intended service period support that use. Some graphics are designed for shorter campaigns or planned replacement, while others remain as part of long-term workplace branding. Removable does not mean damage-free removal, especially when adhesive vinyl is applied to painted walls.

Yes. Heritage makes every reasonable effort to remove adhesive vinyl graphics slowly and carefully without harming the paint or drywall. Even with careful professional removal, however, a damage-free result cannot be guaranteed. Paint or primer can pull away with the vinyl, and in some cases the drywall facing can also be affected.

Clients and property owners should anticipate that wall repair may be needed when planning for future removal and should include both time and financial allowance for possible repair, proper priming, repainting, and full cure before the wall is reused or replacement graphics are installed.

The client or property owner is responsible for arranging and paying for that repair and restoration. Heritage does not perform or pay for the wall repair, priming, repainting, or restoration.

Removable describes the intended adhesive system. It does not promise damage-free removal. Heritage's responsibility is to use careful removal methods, limit avoidable damage, and communicate what is observed.

There is no single service life for every storefront graphic. Performance depends on the material, surface, location, exposure, cleaning, physical contact, and intended use. Heritage begins by understanding how long the client expects the graphic to remain and recommends a system suited to that objective rather than applying one durability promise to every application.

Painted walls must be smooth, sound, properly repaired, primed, painted, and fully cured according to the paint manufacturer's requirements. About four weeks is a useful planning guideline for many paints, although curing times vary. Some washable, scrubbable, stain-resistant, low-VOC, zero-VOC, or otherwise challenging paints may require cleaning, adhesion testing, or another compatible vinyl and adhesive approach.

Adhesion testing can show how vinyl performs on the painted surface, but it cannot confirm how well the paint and primer are bonded to the drywall underneath. If paint peels or pulls away during testing or normal repositioning during installation, Heritage stops rather than making the wall worse. The client or property owner must arrange and pay for needed repair, proper priming, repainting, and full cure before Heritage reschedules installation.

Yes. Heritage produces and installs specific types of non-illuminated exterior signs and graphics when they are part of a coordinated Storefront or workplace branding project that also includes interior work. These can include window graphics, exterior wall graphics or wraps, dimensional signs and lettering, custom sign panels, and related non-illuminated elements. They can identify the organization outside the property and connect with entrance glass, privacy graphics, lobby signs, wall graphics, displays, and other interior branding so the exterior and interior work as one experience.

Printed exterior wall graphics receive protective film laminate as standard practice for added UV and weather protection.

Yes. Dimensional lettering can create a stronger interior focal point after storefront graphics introduce the organization. It is especially useful on reception walls and other prominent locations where depth gives the identity more presence. Heritage plans the feature in relation to the surrounding architecture and graphics so the elements feel connected.

Material selection begins with the design, the site, and how the finished element needs to perform. Heritage may use acrylic, adhesive vinyl, dimensional materials, or aluminum composite material (ACM) depending on the application. ACM provides a durable metal-like appearance at substantially less weight than solid metal. Heritage does not print on or cut solid aluminum or steel as a sign substrate.

Yes. A backlit lobby sign can become the stronger interior destination after the storefront graphics introduce the brand at the entrance. Heritage considers its placement, dimensional depth, illumination, surrounding graphics, and existing room lighting so the feature feels integrated with the broader interior.

Yes. Every Heritage Storefront Graphics project requires a site survey that combines client discovery with field verification. Heritage uses the visit to better understand what the client wants the entrance and interior to accomplish while confirming measurements, surfaces, access, and conditions that could affect production or installation. Those findings remain connected to the dedicated Project Manager and the rest of the Heritage team.

Yes. Heritage can collaborate with a broader professional team and work from established brand standards, architectural information, approved concepts, or other design direction. Our role is to develop or refine the environmental graphics within Heritage's scope and carry the approved work through production, fabrication, and professional installation. Heritage does not provide licensed architecture, engineering, general interior design, lighting design, or code consulting.

Environmental graphic design helps determine what people should notice at the entrance, how much of the glass should remain open, where privacy belongs, and how the brand experience should continue inside. Heritage uses those decisions to develop a practical visual system that works with the site's architecture and conditions and can be produced, fabricated, and professionally installed.

Yes. Heritage can coordinate storefront and interior branding projects across multiple client locations throughout the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic. One dedicated Project Manager remains the client's consistent point of coordination while Heritage connects the appropriate local teammates, site surveys, production and fabrication resources, and professional installation for each property.

That continuity helps preserve brand standards, project knowledge, approvals, communication history, and expectations without requiring the client to restart the process at every location. At the same time, Heritage does not force every property into an identical physical solution. Dimensions, architecture, access, surfaces, schedules, and installation conditions can vary while the approved brand direction and client experience remain consistent.

This gives multi-location organizations the advantage of local support at individual properties combined with one coordinated Heritage relationship across the broader program.

Heritage provides local field support through its Raleigh office and local team serving Raleigh and the Research Triangle, then connects that support to broader Carolinas and Heritage resources when the project requires them. Local Heritage team members can meet clients at their facilities, conduct site surveys and field verification, assist with installation planning, and professionally install the signs, graphics, displays, and branded elements included in the Heritage project.

The information gathered locally stays connected to the client's dedicated Project Manager and the Heritage teams responsible for environmental graphic design, production, and fabrication. This gives the client people who can understand the individual property firsthand without losing continuity as the project moves through the broader Heritage process.

For multi-location organizations, the same approach allows local site support to work within one coordinated program across the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic.

Heritage's full-time professional installers install our Storefront Graphics projects as part of the same Heritage process that includes the required site survey, one dedicated Project Manager, environmental graphic design, production, and fabrication. Those teams share project information throughout the work, so the installers receive the measurements, site conditions, approved design intent, production decisions, access requirements, and installation plan developed before installation day.

That shared project history reduces unnecessary handoffs, miscommunication, and last-minute surprises and helps questions get resolved before they become field problems. It also differs from project-management-only approaches that divide site surveys, design, production, and installation among separate vendors that may enter the project at different stages.

For the client, the advantage is one accountable Heritage team working toward the same objective, with installers prepared to protect the property, minimize disruption, communicate clearly, work efficiently, and deliver the approved result as intended.

No. Heritage does not provide installation-only service for customer-provided signs or graphics. Heritage's professional installers are assigned to the signs, graphics, displays, and branded elements Heritage produces, fabricates, procures, or manages as part of a Heritage engagement.

Keeping those responsibilities connected allows Heritage to maintain continuity among measurements, material decisions, production quality, site information, installation planning, and accountability for the finished result. It also allows Heritage to prioritize skilled installation capacity for clients whose projects Heritage is responsible for carrying from planning through execution.

Timing depends on the scope and actual project conditions. A focused project may move relatively quickly, while a phased or multi-location program requires more coordination. Heritage establishes the schedule after understanding the design requirements, approvals, site readiness, production needs, and installation access, then communicates a realistic plan for completion.

Care depends on the material, where the graphic is installed, and how the surface will be used. Most adhesive vinyl graphics applied to interior walls are not laminated and should be cleaned gently using methods appropriate for the selected vinyl.

In areas where regular cleaning or frequent contact is expected, such as preschools, cafeterias, hospitals, and other healthcare or high-use environments, Heritage may add a protective laminate over the printed vinyl to provide added protection during routine cleaning and handling.

Exterior wall graphics are laminated as a standard practice because the film laminate adds UV protection that helps slow fading from sunlight while also providing added protection for the printed graphics from rain and other outdoor exposure.

Heritage can provide maintenance guidance for the specific vinyl and laminate system used on the project.

Yes. Heritage may remove existing graphics when removal is part of a new Heritage production and installation project. When wall graphics are being replaced, however, we strongly recommend removing the existing graphics well before the planned installation date for the replacements.

The reason is timing. Until the old vinyl comes off, no one can know with certainty what condition will be revealed underneath. Heritage removes graphics slowly and carefully to limit avoidable damage, but paint may pull away, damage to the drywall facing may be exposed, or the wall may need other restoration. Removing the graphics early gives the client or property owner time to arrange and pay for any needed repair, proper priming, and repainting before replacement installation.

The new finish paint must then fully cure before Heritage returns with the replacement graphics. About four weeks is a useful planning allowance for many paints, although the paint manufacturer's requirements and actual site conditions determine readiness.

Planning removal early therefore protects the replacement schedule. Waiting until the new graphics are ready to install can turn a previously hidden wall condition into an unexpected delay.

Heritage does not provide graphics removal as a separate service.

Heritage storefront graphics and interior branding projects in Raleigh and the Research Triangle currently begin with an anticipated overall investment of at least $4,000.
