Winthrop University Women’s Basketball: Project Spotlight

The Heritage Signs & Displays team of experiential graphics experts recently partnered with Winthrop University to create an immersive educational environment and celebrate their women’s basketball team in Rock Hill, SC. The goal of the new signage was to highlight the accomplishments of women’s athletics at the university and amplify the visual appeal of the university’s athletic facilities.

Heritage’s environmental graphic design team worked diligently to produce graphics that were expertly installed within Winthrop University’s coliseum. This included wall wraps in the hallways, restrooms, and connecting backrooms. Each wall graphic showcased important events in Winthrop athletics, as well as important values of Winthrop’s athletics teams while reinforcing the university’s unique colors and branding.

District Moving Project Spotlight

The talented team at Heritage Signs & Displays recently rebranded the commercial vehicles of District Moving, a local moving company in Louisville, KY, with new adhesive vinyl fleet graphics for their company vans and trucks.

District Moving: Washington, DC’s Trusted Moving Service

Based out of Louisville, KY, District Moving has been moving individuals, families, companies, and government agencies throughout the Washington, DC area for over 50 years. District Moving is a government-approved moving service, which means that they have been proudly moving military families and have even moved entire government agencies, agency personnel, congressional offices, and more. District Moving project Spotlight

Representatives from District Moving contacted Heritage Signs & Displays to print and apply new adhesive vinyl fleet graphics to some of their company moving vans at the sign shop in Louisville, KY. Heritage was the natural choice for the job given our experience with wide format printing and installing fleet graphics for company cars, vans, trucks, and other commercial vehicles in Louisville, KY, very often in the towns of Fort Washington, Upper Marlboro, and Oxon Hill, Louisville, KY.

The Process of Printing and Installing New Fleet Graphics

The team of signs and graphics experts at Heritage Signs & Displays specializes in wide format printing and was able to print the adhesive vinyl for District Moving’s trucks and vans using wide format printing technology. The graphics were printed using 3M adhesive vinyl according to District Moving’s approved logos and design specifications. The graphics were latex printed, laminated, and cut to fit the shape of the moving vans or semitruck trailer.

District Moving project Spotlight

Heritage’s sign production facility in Louisville, KY has a garage for the purposes of installing fleet graphics. The District Moving vans were parked in the garage, where the sign installers securely adhered the new fleet graphics to the sides and the back of the moving vans. The semitruck trailers were parked in the parking lot and attached outside the garage with the same level of care. The graphics were applied without bubbling, wrinkling, or creasing to ensure that District Moving’s branding was displayed in a professional and consistent way.

Upon completing the installation, District Moving’s vans and semitruck trailers were newly branded with adhesive vinyl fleet graphics that not only reflected the company’s branding in a way that was visually appealing but would also withstand the elements and endure across the vast distances that District Moving vehicles regularly travel. Heritage Signs & Displays has maintained a strong working relationship with District Moving and will continue to do so in the years to come for all of their future fleet graphics, signage, and branding needs.

Play to Win or Play Not to Lose?

All sports fans have heard the terms “Play to Win” and “Play not to Lose”, but do we really know what it means?

Play to Win

Here are some terms that best describe PTW:
_ Being aggressive
_ Controlling the tone of the game or match
_ Playing at a pace that best suits the talents of the team

Play Not to Lose

Likewise, some related phrases for PNTL:
_ Being submissive
_ Relaxing because of a lead
_ Coasting
_ Prevent defense

We have all witnessed these scenarios for our beloved college and professional teams. We dominate the first portion of the contest and stay strong to the finish for the win. This usually happens when playing a lesser talented team.

OR

Your team controls the initial portion and seemingly have the “game in the bag” and begins to relax. The opponent comes storming back and wins the game at the buzzer, or in overtime.

Where does this mentality generate from? How can a talented group of individuals dictate their will and other times, enable others to mandate the situation? The answer is relatively simple:

CULTURE

The culture of a group is more than heart, or determination or even talent, culture is all those entities and more. Culture is a mindset, having confidence in your leaders, being transparent in communication and responsibilities. Culture is not a feeling, it’s a belief, believing that the group is one as a team, there are no superstars, only team mates working together to reach a mutual goal.

At Heritage Signs & Displays, we play to win! Our leaders have developed Core Values that are clear, concise and transparent, every employee at Heritage Signs & Displays understands our Core Values and buys into them wholeheartedly. We work with like-minded individuals that understand the value of team and appreciate the benefits from that mindset.

We live our Culture and share it with every project we work on. Our customers appreciate the courtesy and professionalism, we regularly receive 5-Star Google reviews for our exceptional customer service. Going the “extra mile” is how we play to win.

Are you involved with a printer that plays to win or plays not to lose?

Do you have to micro-manage your projects or are you confident in your print team?
