Pfeiffer University Project Earns the Highest Wide-Format Honor

Heritage Signs & Displays received the 2022 Wide Format Q Award for a three-level stairwell wall-wrap project created for Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, near Salisbury, NC. Presented by the Printing & Graphics Association MidAtlantic at its Excellence in Print Q Awards on May 11, 2022, the Wide Format Q recognized the strongest overall wide-format entry in the regional competition.

The Pfeiffer University project earned both Best of Category for wide-format printing and the event’s highest wide-format distinction. The recognition demonstrated how large-format adhesive vinyl graphics can transform a functional stairwell into a cohesive branded wall display that supports the identity and daily experience of an educational institution.
Nearly 300 printing and graphics professionals attended the ceremony at Martin’s West in Woodlawn, Maryland. Heritage was honored to have its work for Pfeiffer University selected from a competitive field representing printing and visual communications companies across the Mid-Atlantic.

Transforming a Three-Level Stairwell into a Branded Wall Display

Stairwells are essential parts of a campus, but they are often treated only as circulation spaces. Pfeiffer University recognized an opportunity to make this three-level interior more engaging and connected to the university’s identity. The completed wall wraps extended the visual experience across multiple levels instead of limiting campus branding to a lobby or primary hallway.
Producing a multilevel wall display requires artwork, measurements, colors, materials, panel transitions, and installation sequencing to remain coordinated across walls, corners, landings, doors, and changing architectural conditions. Because people see the adhesive vinyl graphics at close range, accurate alignment, color consistency, surface preparation, and installation quality are especially important.

This project demonstrates how educational environments can communicate more effectively through thoughtful signs and graphics. Wall wraps and other wall displays can strengthen campus identity, share institutional history, reinforce a mission statement and core values, recognize supporters, or create a more engaging experience for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and visitors.
